* The first Canadian schools directed by the religious catholic orders, was dated in the beginning of the XVIIth century. The higher education began in 1635 with the foundation of the School of the Jesuits in the city of Quebec. At the beginning of the XIXth century the big universities were erected, beginning with that of McGill (in Montreal), in the year 1821 and following Ottawa (1848) and Toronto (1850).

* In 1995 Canada had 12.506 primary schools with a record of 2.448.144 pupils. In secondary schools, the same year, there were 2.505.389 students.

* The mass production of Canada in regards with its population is between the most elevated in the world. In 1999 its exports reached 238.446 million dollars and its imports amounted to 220.183 million dollars.
