The Popular Republic of China is a country placed in the East of Asia, the most populated in the world, with more than 1.300 million inhabitants, and fourth in territorial extension, after Russia, Canada and the United States.
Colombian students can study in China both under academic exchanges, and through governmental agreements as an individual request. The National commission of Funds for Studies in China publishes in November of every year the plan for shcolarships prepared by the department of Education of China, and its put at your disposal through their embassies.
The Chinese language relies on one of biggest number of speakers in the world, with more than 1000 million people, and it´s one of 5 languages at work in the UNO. English, Spanish and the Chinese are the three most spoken languages in the world. It means this that the Colombians that it dominates these 3 languages, can “ it can literally move like fish in the water ”. like any other language, the most effective way of learning to speak Chinese is living a while in the China. The most important thing is that the Chinese economy has presented a resurgence of such a high impact that its attracting the eyes of the world. Its power is being reinforced every day. There are dozens of small centers, medium institutions and universities that offer Chinese courses.
The Chinese's Level examination (HSK), opened to foreigners, the overseas Chinese and the members of the ethnic minorities of China, it´s a standardized examination of national level, programmed to determine the Chinese level as a second language language. Its appearance is a faithful exponent of the matureness reached by the teaching Chinese as a second language. The programming, the planning and the organization of the HSK is runned by the Center of Chinese level examinations from the University of Language and Culture of Beijing. The HSK comprises the following levels: basic level (HSKb), initial and average levels (HSKi and HSKm, respectively), and top level (HSKs). The National Committee of Chinese's Level examinations is the organization incharge of rewarding the certificates corresponding to the obtained cualification.
Since the 1990´s, the year in which approval was obtained by specialists and was announced inside and out of China, that the HSK has had a big aftereffect. The increase of it´s scientific fiability, its importance and prestige has been translated in a constant increase of its examinees. Since November, 1997 more than 100.000 Chinese's students have presented themselves to the HSK from 116 countries around the world.
