* In most of the United States, the illiteracy has been almost eliminated. In 1998, between the Americans older than 25 years, 83% had finished their high school (secondary education).
* The public and private institutions offer all the educational levels, from preschool highschool. The basic and secondary education takes 12 years of formation.
* In the course 1993-1994, United States was provided with 72.000 primary schools. In 1995 the inscriptions in these schools were 24 million pupils and 21 millions in the secondary education. The widest system of private education is formed by the catholic Church.
