GENERAL RECOMENDATIONS
It is essential that you travel with all your ORIGINAL travel documents that you used to Apply for the visa because it can be requested by French Customs. But don´t leave any ORIGINAL, ONLY COPIES.
The dossier should include all the documents indicated. In your case you may request additional documents.
The delivery of this issue is personal. The presentation of the complete dossier not necessarily the issuance of the visa. The number of copies required will be indicated by the Consule. When the file contains a copy of the documents, the original will be demanded upon presenting yourself to visa services.
1. Formularios de solicitud de visado de larga estancia debidamente diligenciados. Application forms for long-stay visa duly processed. (you can claim these form at Grupo Gales, the embassy or the Ciam - Center of information Andre Maurois).
2. Pictures of recent identity.
3. Valid Passport for more than three months for visa requested: get photocopies of the first two pages double please.
4. Letter of presentation in French and one in Spanish (who you are, why your´re requesting a visa , which do you prefer to issue, explain your motivation).
5. Bring your curriculum with photocopies of your last diplomas.
6. Justification of student cualifications: photocopy of the last diploma, highschool certificate or highschool equivalency or the last student ID issued.
7. Proof of registration of an establishment in France: (*) (Should this registration be subjected because of prior approval of a test or any other test. The visa procedure will be applied)
* Certficate of pre-registration or registration of a private or public institution of higher education.
* Proof of payment of educational expenses in case of registration of an establishment other than the university.
8. Proof of livelihoods (- For the French government scholars, scholars from foreign governments, international agencies and beneficiaries of community programs: attestation relating to the amount and duration of the scholarship or proof of the benefit of a community program).
9. Para el resto de solicitantes: atestacion bancaria (**) o atestación de una persona en Francia que se compromete a asumir la carga, presentada con los siguientes documentos: fotocopia de un título de persona responsable (documento nacional de identidad, pasaporte, título de estancia en Francia) y justificante de sus recursos (últimos certificados de salarios y último dictamen de imposición sobre la renta, por ejemplo).
For other applicants: bank attestation or attestation of a person in France who will undertake the responsibility, presented with the following documents: photocopy of legal documentation from the person responsible (national identity card, passport, title stay in France), and proof of his/her resources (past wages and certificates of income, for example).
The bank attestation can be presented as follows:
* Be an owner of a French bank account.
* Be owner of a Colombian bank account (in his name) which states, before traveling, the money we spent in France and present bank attestation . This document issued by the bank must prove:
- To have six million pesos if requesting a visa for six months or 12 billion pesos if requested a visa for one year (these averages can be divided into two if someone in France is committed to receive and provide a portion of their expenses in France, in this case he/she has to provide all the supporting documents (letter of responsibility, receipt of domectic bills, bank statements, etc.)
- Upon arrival in France you must open a new account, your bank in Colombia will have the opportunity to convey the money to your new French account.
- For the grant holders of the French government: medical certificate sent by a doctor in agrevence with the French representation that instructs the request of the visa.
10. The one year visa of is made for 3 months and this is the maximum term to proceed with it " carte of séjour " (Status Certificate for foreigners) once settle in France. Unlike the one year visa of , the 6 months visa cannot be renewed in France.
11. All the documents must be delivered to " Center of Information André Maurois ", at Embassy of France, the direction is a 11 ave. #93-30, Bogota. Telephone: 6381500 and 6555095 from Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. To 1 p.m.
If the dossier is finished you will given an appointment after 5 working days so that you can present yourself at Visas Services.
12. The request must done with the most anticipation possible.
13. Regarding the request for studies in France, bear in mind that you need a pre-incription of 91 days minimum for the six months visa or a pre-enrollment of 181 days minimum for the request of the one year visa.
14. It is recommended that you atleast study 150-200 hours minimum of French before proceeding with your visa to study in France.
