The country occupies part of the plain of North Europe, and bordered south with Belgium and East with Germany. To the North and West the North Sea, which invades the territory constantly. The continued grounds of the sea occupy a fifth part of the territory and they´re under the sea level. These regions, known like polders, are very fertile and protected for dikes. The country is composed by dikes. The country is composed by three differentiated regions: to the North and Northwest extends a swampy area limited to the South and to the South-west to the hills of Velawe; on the West one finds an area formed by low swampy grounds and the polders. To the North a chain of the islands Frisias Occidentales, connected by the Oriental Friezes of Germany.
The Climate is fresh in the summer and soft in the winter, with normal rain. Average temperature: 18ºC. The distance in train between every city of Holland is so short that a student takes an average of 2 hours to travel from one city to the other.
Amsterdam is a seductive city, with an air that is simultaneously provincial and cosmopolitan. It´s a metropolis that receives very well the visitors and that proves to be opened to new tendencies. Nevertheless, for many the principal reason that justifies the visit is the importance of its museums and galleries, principally the Rijksmuseum, with a big collection of Dutch painting of the XVII century , and the Van Gogh museum. Go on bike throungh the hole center of the city, being guided by the curiosity that the city wakes up in each one of us.
