Although a visa is necessary to visit the China, it is not necessary to have visa to visit Hong Kong. If a Colombian student planes to travel to Hong Kong for more than 6 months, than he/she must solicitate a permission equivalent to the student visa, this silicitation is done in the Chinese embassy (more details, embassy of China).
