GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. CERTIFICATION (original and copy) of the Italian Institute of Culture in Bogota (35 street north. #15-32 - Teusaquillo) suitable to demonstrate that you have enough cultural adaptation to carry out studies in Italy (as well as the basic knowledge of the Italian language) and the seriousness of the Institute (with this in hand you must present yourself to the I.I.C. with the documents that guarantee the activities that the Institute teach). N.B.: in which complete the academic activities that allow the sanitary functions, a prior recognition of the title course that enables it to teach professionaly by the Department of Health.
2. INSCRIPTION to the Course (original and copy), must be recognized by the Italian State. Only in case of Professional training, the inscription will have to be accompanied also by a DECLARATION from the " Legal Representative of the Formation Institute" in which confirmes on having informed the Italian Authorities (Direzione Provinciale of the Lavoro - Servizio Ispezioni) " that during the formation course, labor services were not establish with the student."
3. ECONOMIC GUARANTEES: you must demonstrate the availability of a minimal balance equivalent to the sum of 668.000 Lyres = $345 EUROS for every month for the durationof the course you´re studying.
To demonstrate the above mentioned guarantees, you will be able to be present one of the following documents according to the cases stated below:
* If the petitioner of the Visa RELIES ON his own proper guarantees (or those of the parents)
* Bank statements or savings account from the last 3 months (Original and Copy);
* Certificate of labor income; income tax statement (Original and Copy)
* Certificate of economic solvency of a Bank or Corporation in Colombia or in the exterior (original and copy)
Note: Please be advised that the one who isinterested one must open a bank account - preferably in the first seven (7) days upon arrival to Italy - as well as carry out the bank transference of the amount mentioned . The last one will be realized by the parents if it is they who are the economic holders (original). The opening of the above mentioned account is indispensable for the request, between 8 days upon arrival to Italy, the Demurrage Permission " Permesso di Soggiorno " in the Questura, is put to penalty of expulsion from Italy.
a) If the petitioner of the Visa DOES NOT RELY ON his own proper guarantees: The guarantor can be an Italian citizen or a foreigner legally resident in Italy or also an Italian entity:
* Copy of "Fidejussione Bancaria" or Insurance policy for the amount earlier mentioned (point 3), carried out by the Guarantor, addressed to the applicant of the Visa, in an Italian Bank;
* Copy of the last Income tax statement (Italian) of the Guarantor.
b) Equally, it is necessary to also present:
* Copy of "Permesso di Soggiorno" ( minimal validity of one year) only if the guarantor is a foreign citizen.
* Copy of the penal certificate (issued by the Italian Authorities) where it is demonstrated that the Guarantor has no priors related against the clandestine immigration;
* Copy of the certification of the Italian Authority (Comune or A.S.L.) on the possession on behalf of the Guarantor of a suitable accommodation;
* Letter of invitation, done before a Notary.
c) If the applicant of the Visa obtained a Scholarship from an Italian University:
* If the Scholarship does not cover completely the totaly indicated in point 3, it will be necessary to demonstrate that he/she have the economic resources to reach the required total with options 3a and 3b.
4. MEDICAL INSURANCE: Original and copy of the Insurance already acquired in Colombia. The insurance must specify its validity in Italy during the whole stay, as well as indicate the totality that it covers and the medical contingencies that it covers (it must cover expenses of hospitalization, surgery, medical treatment, consultations, medicine, medical, clinical and radiological examinations, etc.).
It is indicated that WITHOUT MEDICAL INSURANCE the "QUESTURA" it will not be able to grant the student "Permesso di Soggiorno", therefore penalty of expulsion will be apllied( see point 3a).
5. ACCOMMODATION: Copy of the rent contract stipulated according to the Italian norms or copy of a hotel reservation (as long as it does´nt intervene with the Guarantor - see point 3b).
6. AGE: It is not possible to grant a student visa to a person younger than 14 years of age.
Student between 14 and 18 years can be granted a Visa if the following conditions are presented, in addition to the requirement mentioned earlier:
a) If the student spends his time studying in a Boarding school, it is necessary to present a document in which the Legal Representative of the Boarding school demonstrates that he/she becomes formally and directly responsible for the minor (see example of invitation letter ).
b) If the student is staying in a relatives house nearby, it is necessary for the relative to make himself formally and directly responsible for the minor.
c) There must be an authorization from both parents to leave the country and to put the minor under the responsibility of an indicated person (see points A or B).
Without the completion of the conditions mentioned earlier the Visa will not be granted.
DOCUMENT that certifies the RESIDENCE in Colombia (Notarized statement).
APPLICATION FORM FOR THE VISA must be properly filled out in block letter ( the form will not be accepted incomplete or illegible) with a passport size photo (sticked to the form). Note: The request for the visa is personal.
A VALID PASSPORT at least for a period of 15 months from the date the request was filled out ,with at least a one free page.
AIRLINE TICKET - to and from the country (original and copy) or copy of the Reservation sealed by the flight agency.
Note: If you´re staying more than three months you must present the airline ticket going to only and it is necessary to demonstrate an economic guarantee of 1.500.000 lyres = Euro $775 at the end to buy the airline ticket to return.
The student visa , to carry out Italian courses , will be granted only to those who can show deep interest and knowledge of the Italian language. Those who do not have the knowledge of the Italian language can register to an Italian courses in Colombia (for example in the Italian Institute of Culture in Bogota, street 35 North. #15-32 - Teusaquillo).
Cost of the Visa: the student visa is free. Time of delivery: One week after the date of having fille out the form. The one who applies for the Visa: The visa must be requested personally to the Embassy.
