Comprises a small group of islands - Malta, Gozo, Comino, Cominotto and Filfla - located in the Mediterranean Sea, to the south of Sicily. The biggest surface of the island, Malta, is 245 km2, Gozo occupies 67 km2 and Comino has 3 km2. The entire surface is 316 km ². The population of Malta (according to estimations of 1998) were 379.563 habitants, who contribute a population density of 1.200 hab/km ². In 1998 the life expectancy was 75 years for men and 80 for women. The capital and principal port is La Valletta, with a population (according to estimations of 1997) of 7.172 habitants.

You can´t work in Malta legally with a student visa, therefore the student must plan appropriately his/her trip. Accomadation cost, according to the report given by innumerable amount of students ranges between USD$ 400 to USD$ 800 per month, assuming that the student has cancelled all his housing accomadations previously, and is depending on individual needs. The English language is the second spoken language after the Maltese.
