My name is Tayner Rodriguez, I studied Marine Biology in the University of the Tadeo. After one year of trying to find work in Colombia I got bored and one day found myself seated in one of the meetings organized by Group Wales, in which they explained to me everything I needed to study in Australia.
This was three years ago, now I find myself finishing my second year of my Doctorate in Evolutionary Genetics, in the Molecular Biology Laboratory of Griffith's University in Brisbane, Australia. I started my PHD with a scholarship (Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship) for three years of investigation, after the first year, I presented my project of investigation based on the investigation of Water bases in the University of Canberra, and was granted another scholarship.
Additionally I worked for Pacific Seeds, it´s a company that´s tied to the genetics Laboratory. Obviously all this did not happen overnight, Group Gales helped me establish an english school, to eventually study Biotechnology in hte TAFE, all this was handled by Group Gales as well as my documentation for my visa. At the beginning it was difficult, working in places I never imagined , as assistant to the cook, waiter, etc, nothing that interfered with my studies. A year after finishing my career in the TAFE my genetics teacher introduced me to Jane Hughes who is head of the faculty of environmental sciences, and with her support I was able to apply and receive my first and second scholarship. This is why I´m so greatful with Group Wales because without their help non of this would have been possible. Thank you Grupo Gales
